WHEN SHOULD I BEGIN MY WEDDING STATIONERY?
Planning ahead allows plenty of time for a thoughtful, relaxed design process. Save the Dates are typically mailed 8–10 months before the wedding, or up to 12 months before a destination wedding.
I recommend allowing approximately 4–6 weeks for Semi-Custom Save the Dates and 6–8 weeks for Custom Save the Dates. Invitation suites should ideally begin 5–6 months before the wedding, with additional time allowed for specialty printing such as letterpress or foil stamping.
If you have your venue and wedding date selected, it’s never too early to reach out and reserve your place on my design calendar.
How can I see your work in person?
Our sample pack includes a selection of Save the Dates, Invitation Suites and other stationery pieces, so you can experience our paper, print quality and materials firsthand before placing your order. Samples feature existing designs and are not customized with your wording or artwork.
What is your current lead time for custom paintings?
Our lead time on watercolor paintings is usually about three weeks, but please send me an email to confirm the current turn around timing. Rush projects can be accepted on a case by case basis.
When should my invitations be mailed out?
Wedding invitations are typically mailed 2–3 months before the wedding. For destination weddings or celebrations requiring significant travel, mailing them a little earlier may be helpful.
To allow plenty of time for design, refinements, printing and assembly, we recommend beginning your invitation suite 3-4 months before your mailing date. Specialty printing such as letterpress or foil requires additional production time, so starting early is always encouraged.
Can you print on my envelopes?
Absolutely! We’re happy to remove the time-consuming, tedious work of envelope addressing by custom printing your guests’ names and addresses on the front of your main envelopes. We also can print your return address on the back flap of the main envelope, and your name and address on the front of the response envelope. Black ink is standard, but we can print in color as well, or upgrade to white opaque ink for an additional fee.
Do you create other stationery items for my wedding?
Absolutely! For clients we’re already working with on Save the Dates and/or invitation suites, we can carry your design through to your wedding day with coordinating menus, place cards, programs, seating charts, signage, cocktail napkins and other day-of details.
CAN I PURCHASE A DIGITAL DESIGN FILE AND PRINT THE STATIONERY MYSELF?
We handle both the design and printing of our stationery so we can ensure the quality of the finished pieces from start to finish. For that reason, we do not provide print-ready stationery files for outside printing.
If you’re looking for custom watercolor artwork only, a high-resolution digital file for personal use may be purchased separately.
Where are your stationery products produced?
All of our stationery is professionally printed and produced in the USA through our trusted production partners.
Can I also get a digital file of my painting to use?
Yes! Commissioned paintings include the original artwork, and a high-resolution digital file may be added for $39. The file includes personal-use rights, making it easy to incorporate your artwork into other details for your wedding or celebration.
Ivory Isle Art + Design retains the copyright to commissioned artwork and may use the artwork in our portfolio, stationery collections and other future work. Exclusive rights may be purchased for an additional fee. Digital artwork may not be resold or used commercially.
